Where will we be in 2017?

CBBC, your Bideford Bay Creatives committee met on 12/01/12 to plan for your future. Our initial 3 year plan expires this July and BBC needs your ideas to mould our future. But first a refresher in where we’ve been:

2009

BBC formed July 2009

1^st September bbcdevon.org website launched

3^rd Sept Press Launch – North Devon Journal

First out-of-town exhibition – Little Gallery on the Farm Exhibition Feb/March 2010

2010

Spring 2010: BBC wants a home, an Art Hub, as a studio, workshop, meeting space, wired working space, gallery etc viewing of Wyvern Organ Building – presentation to Bideford Town Council and Torridge Planning department

May 2010 Art in the market – proposal meeting to Bideford Town Clerk

Glover Stanbury Window April 2010 (until November 2011)

May 2010 – Potwalloping Festival – Kingsley Hall exhibition/workshops/demonstrations/raffle etc plus ‘painting with light’ Workshop on the beach.

BBC t-shirts designed and printed

Appledore Visual Arts Festival – exhibition tent and raffle; demonstrations and collecting of signatures in support of our Art Hub.

Mill Street Moments – Aug 2010 random creative acts in Bideford’s main shopping street.

Culture show October 2010 – awarded grant from Bideford Bridge trust

Sadie and Dave in Manteo October 2010 – liaising with Bideford’s twin town on a NAN Go-and-See Bursary – with Dare county Arts – setting up for Postcard exchange and 3 year programme plan

2011

Banners Commission from Bideford Town Council and the Joint Delivery Team at North Devon+ – April 2011

First Friday – May 2011 – through til October

Postcard Exchange June  – exhibited in Burton Art Gallery and Post office and in Manteo, Dare county arts gallery then post office. 1/2 page in Devon Life

Tri Village Community Festival at Instow  – July

Banner erected and hung in Kingsley Road, Bideford July 2011

BBC were the cultural quarter at the Watersports Festival, Bideford Quay, July 2011

Culture show Sept and Oct 2011. Guided Art Walks on the First Friday’s of  Sept and Oct

Workshops as part of Culture Show – Bideford Bridge Funded

Twitter and Facebook accounts activated in Dec 2011
