Caroline Preston is an origami artist living and working in Devon. Caroline researched in Japan during her Fine Art degree and lived and worked there after her PGCE to learn more about the traditions, culture and crafts that influence her work. The origami crane is a global symbol of peace after the 1000 crane legend and story of Sadako Sasaki: “This is our cry. This is our prayer. Peace in the World.” Caroline uses this inspiration in the creation of her work, her poetry and workshops in bringing people together through origami artwork and shared interests in the arts and crafts.
