I love working with the technique of Batik and Lino-cut printmaking, which both explore line, colour and texture. My themes are local land and seascapes, flowers and animals.
My most recent work explores these elements through paint. I am making a series of paintings in acrylic that explore the sea’s surface. I want to capture the sense of fluid movement and weather conditions around the North Devon coast.
I also run day workshops from my studio in Westward Ho!

I studied at Harrow Art School from the age of sixteen, where I discovered an enthusiasm for the printing processes, particularly Batik and Lino Cut. I continued this specialism at the University of London. I have shown this work in individual and shared exhibitions in the South East, Somerset and Devon where I now live.

Local Exhibition venues:
The Devon Open Art Show – Barnstaple 2008, 2009
The Broomhill Sculpture Park
The Plough – Torrington
The Burton Summer and Christmas Exhibitions
14 & 39 The Gallery
Open Studios
Art Trek

In addition to working as a specialist teacher of Art for many years, I have worked on large murals in the community and with youth groups to produce public murals, exhibitions and installations. I have worked with the Westward Ho! Youth Theatre Group to produce scenery for their productions.

I offer Batik or Lino-cut printing workshops at my studio in Westward Ho!

I am available to give a one hour presentation to groups on the fascinating process of Batik.
