AONB Photography Project

Dave gives instruction for long exposure night photography

BBC are leading photographic workshops with groups of people including Young Devon and Devon Youth Service. These practical sessions are encouraging people to explore the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty AONB. The workshops are running in January and February and the results can be seen on the Explore the Coast website. There are images on this site now and more will be posted as the project develops. This project has been made possible through the AONB’s Sustainable Development Fund.

There is a free photographic workshop “a Textured Land” at Westward Ho! beach on Saturday February 4th, 10.30 am to 1 pm. This is a chance to learn about another side of photography with experienced photographers from Bideford Bay Creatives leading the workshop. Take a look at the details of everyday objects all around, often unnoticed, but which, when examined carefully, reveal a wealth of interesting patterns and textures. Bring a digital camera with a fully charged battery; a sturdy tripod would be beneficial but not obligatory.

Places are free but must be reserved. To book a place please email info@bbcdevon.org, Facebook us at Bideford Bay Creatives or phone 01237 477789.

A photographic artist who has built up a unique vision of the world through his digitally constructed images. None of his photographs are simply photographs; most of them are made from up to 100 separate images layered, like strata, on top of each other to build up an impression of what it is like to be in a place, giving the viewer far more than a visual experience.
