Here are 5 pictures of the banners and other art material donated to BBC from North Devon Plus. We have a whole load more banners to come in early 2012 from the Water Sports Festival. The plan is to run some workshops on banner making, using these as blank ‘canvases’. We also need to make some new promotional banners for BBC. Please start to think of creative ways of using this flexible plastic material and of what paint or other medium will be best suited to work on it.
Four BBC artists are delivering art sessions on batik, photography, pottery, and monoprinting this half-term, week beginning Monday 24th October. Even though the kids are off school the workshops are designed for a large age range and certainly not just for the under 16’s.
To start the week on Monday 2.30-4.30 you can learn about your own digital camera at Dave Green’s free workshop for 14 years+. He will introduce you to the mysteries of photography; Aperture, shutter speeds, iso, file type and size, quality, and compression. The session starts outside Walter Henry’s bookshop and Ozzy’s Hairdressers where Dave will introduce you to his photographs; then onto Gertie’s Café for the actual Camera workshop. Please bring your camera which needs to have some manual settings and buy a drink there to support the free use of the space. To book a place phone Dave on 01237 477789 or email: Booking Essential!
